Hope's Cuvée Chardonnay
Winemaking Notes
The Chardonnay was picked in two batches – the original vines from the 1980s were picked first and the younger, replanted vines picked later allowing fruit to ripen perfectly for both sections. The fruit was whole cluster pressed and barrel fermented with native microflora. To preserve acidity and freshness, the wines were stopped at 50% malolactic fermentation. The wines were aged sur lie in 50% new oak for 8 months prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes
Our 2018 Hope’s Cuvee Chardonnay is a gorgeous wine with striking richness and depth. Citrus peel, lemon custard, apricots, honey and subtle floral notes give the wine a complex bouquet. The wine is more generous on the palate with a creamy texture, balanced acidity which is well representative of the opulent vintage. The wine finishes with a saline minerality framed in notes of French Oak, hazelnut and spice.

Padrone
Winemaking Notes
Padrone is created in honor of Ray Signorello Sr., a visionary whose life was as full of character as our wines. It is a seamless integration of supple tannins, intense varietal aromas and rich flavor that expresses the utmost quality of the Estate. The grapes for this proprietary Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from the best blocks of our extremely rocky hillside vineyard. To preserve fruit intensity and body, the wine was not fined or filtered prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes
The 2016 Padrone is a beautiful wine that exudes concentration, depth and balance. The complex bouquet of blackberry, cassis, licorice, lavender, dark chocolate and spice asserts its terroir in a striking manner. The tannins are powerful yet exceptionally balanced yielding a juicy and plush mouthfeel. Time in the glass only reveals further complexity with lifted notes of tobacco, plum, hints of espresso and sage. The 2016 is evocative and full of promises to get further nuanced with cellar age.
